A FAVORITE MEMORY OF DOOR COUNTY

The memory below, accompanied by the photo of my 3 boys striking a nautical
pose in Newport SP (which I sent you separately, as well), won the Door County
Visitor Bureau's 2016 "Our Door County" contest (out of 500 entries).
This photo of my three handsome, but "goofball," boys (older sister not shown)
striking a nautical pose in Newport State Park is especially memorable. We six
hiked the Lynd Point Trail on an exceptionally beautiful July day and stopped
several times along the rocky shoreline to enjoy the water. When my boys
struck this goofy, but prophetic, pose, I captured it. That 2014 Door County trip
was our last 6-member family vacation: Jesse, on the left, and Daniel, in the
middle, both entered the US Coast Guard the following October and February,
respectively, and are currently serving our country.
