CONNECTING pEOplE TO REsOURCEs United Way's 2-1-1 is a toll free, confidential and anonymous, hotline that connects callers to trained call specialists 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dial 2-1-1 from any phone. TOGETHER we can accomplish more than any one person or organization can on their own. It takes All of us to lIVE UNITED. CHANGEs lIVEs. Basic Needs • 128 active mentoring relationships are in place with a strong focus on education, life skills, and risk avoidance • 8 homes were made safer and more energy efficient to allow for ongoing independent living • 62 riders received 863 rides provided by volunteer drivers at minimal cost when no other option met the riders needs • 118 community members received affordable legal services United Way of Door County is dedicated to helping to meet resident's basic needs for food, transportation, housing, safety, and jobs. commuNity • 148 high school students participated in quarterly student led activities focusing on healthy lifestyles • 38 children were provided with financial assistance to receive child care in a safe and secure environment that ensures personal growth and educational development • 580 students were provided with the school supplies needed to start school • 27 children did not witness conflict between parents during custodial exchanges United Way of Door County is dedicated to enhancing the lives of our neighbors, friends, and families to continue to build strong relationships in caring for each other and understanding the roles and challenges each faces. aoda • Students from all 5 school districts are active in Project 180 • 6 educational sessions were held to discuss the effects of alcohol and drugs on our community • 638 students and community members learned about the effects of drugs and alcohol United Way of Door County is dedicated to challenging the community to embrace change in the culture involving alcohol and other drug use. HeaLtH • 2,361 patients received affordable dental care • 620 community members accessed mental heath resources • 145 adults were connected to the various health resources they needed United Way of Door County is dedicated to encouraging healthy lifestyles, access to dental, hearing, mental, primary, and vision care. UNITED WAY RUN PROGRAMS are 100% grant funded. Programs under United Way supervision are provided office space, financial management and seasoned leadership to operate as cost effectively as possible. All United Way run programs are required to apply for funding from various sources, including United Way, through the traditional funding process. Call United Way Reduces the cost of prescription medicine for children, families and individuals in Door County.
