Todd & Melissa
Vows taken September 16, 2017
Todd and Melissa met in August 2013. Melissa
was a dolphin trainer in Fort Walton Beach, FL
and Todd was spending the summer with his
two daughters, Addison and Makenna, in Fort
Walton as well. A coworker of Melissa's knew
Todd through a mutual friend and told him to
bring the girls to see the dolphin show. After
the show, she introduced Melissa to Todd,
Addison and Makenna. A couple of days later
Melissa and Todd went on their first date and
have been together ever since. Todd and his
daughters lived in Iowa, so the next year of
their relationship was long distance. In August
2014 Melissa moved up to Iowa to be with
Todd and the girls, still spending summers
down in Fort Walton. In June 2016, while in
Florida, Todd took Melissa and the girls back to
where they first met and he proposed to
Melissa.
Shortly after moving up to Iowa Todd
introduced Melissa to Door County, a place he
has frequented with his family since his
childhood. She quickly fell in love with the
scenic area...the views, the food, and the
people! While on one of their adventures in
Door County they discovered the Gordon
Lodge and quickly agreed it would be a perfect
location for their wedding. They were married
there September 16, 2017, Addison and
Makenna were bridesmaids in the wedding. It
was a destination wedding for both families,
with about 90% of the 130 guests making their
first trip to Door County. After the wedding
weekend, many guests could not wait to plan
their next visit back!
